Welcome to the World of Smartphone Reporting
When Apple launched the iPhone (first generation) in June of 2007 it was the dawning of a new era in technology — the emergence of the Smartphone. Over the last six years, several other companies have developed their own Smartphone: Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Blackberry and Nokia just to name a few.
Each phone has different components in order to separate itself from its competitors, but one valuable component every Smpartphone contains is a High Definition, Digital Camera. The ability to shoot video and take still shots from ones phone has somewhat eliminated the need for consumers to carry around a separate device such as a digital camera, making it more convenient for parents or friends to capture moments spontaneously. However, the convenience has also affected the professional world, specifically journalism.
This class will cover why and how the Smartphone is a huge asset in today’s media.
